Sister wives

In Portugal we don´t have the possibility to watch Swedish TV. We do have satellite but the option we have is to watch Portuguese, Spanish, and different American TV channels.

One of these American TV channels is horrible. They only air reality shows, one more horrible than the other. You can see people fighting at Gypsy weddings, loosing weight, running away from different sects or buying a property naked. That channel is more or less what freak shows used to be in the past.

Anorther program is about one man with his wife and three sister wives. They all belong to a sect called http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apostolic_United_Brethren. Which is a branch of the Mormon church. This sect believe in plural marriage. What I understand it is only the men who can have several wives. The women can´t but have to share one man.

I have tried to find out why it is ok to marry more than one woman according to AUB but what I can see there is no real answer to that.

If you seek the net why different societies allow polygami you get several different answers. One of the main reasons is SEX of course, POWER is another. Reproduction is also an important factor. I find it despicable and weird.

Then something struck me. We have the same situation here on the farm, but even worse.

Our own Senhor Lars is a real male chauvinist. He has 5 wives and three young ones. One day I found him the chicken coop with the small ones, all alone. What was he doing in there?

I think it should be at least one rooster for each chicken hahahaha. Otherwise it isn´t fair.
